About this place
What would green curry taste like as ramen? Bassanova’s Green Curry Soba offers one answer. The menu describes a bowl made with several spices and coconut milk; some diners have found it creamy and rich, but not especially spicy. It’s a good choice for anyone who wants curry flavours with noodles, or prefers a milder level of heat.
To enjoy the broth to the last spoonful, add rice. The menu suggests stirring rice into the leftover soup, and one diner who tried the Green Curry Tsukemen also enjoyed finishing the meal that way. If you’re in the mood for dipping noodles, the Tsukejiru Soba is another option: it comes with a larger-than-usual portion of thick noodles, chilled in cold water.
The menu also offers flavours beyond its Southeast Asian-inspired noodles. Choose Ton-daku Soba, made with smooth tonkotsu pork-bone broth that has been carefully skimmed to remove excess scum, or Ton-wadashi Soba, which combines rich tonkotsu broth with the restaurant’s original Japanese-style dashi. There is counter seating for solo diners, and the restaurant serves lunch and dinner. Payment is cash only, so come prepared.
